While our school is new, our founders and director bring decades of experience in Montessori education and childcare, ensuring your child’s learning journey is in expert hands.

Our programs serve children from 18 months to 6 years old, offering tailored learning experiences for Toddlers, Preschoolers, and Kindergarten/Young 5’s. Guided by the Montessori philosophy, our curriculum nurtures independence, critical thinking, and creativity, helping each child develop a strong foundation for future success.

Conveniently located on Woodward Avenue inside the Birmingham Unitarian Church (independent and not affiliated), Birmingham Bloomfield Montessori provides a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where your child can thrive.

At Birmingham Bloomfield Montessori, we are dedicated to guiding and nurturing your child in a dynamic and safe learning environment. Recognizing each child as a unique individual, we celebrate their abilities, interests, and learning styles while fostering their natural desire to learn.

Our Montessori Early Childhood classrooms are carefully prepared spaces where children engage with specially crafted manipulative materials that spark curiosity, ignite the senses, and promote joyful exploration. With highly trained teachers as their guides, children experience uninterrupted blocks of work time, allowing them to delve deeply into activities at their own pace. This process nurtures essential skills such as coordination, concentration, independence, and a keen sense of order.

We believe in the transformative power of choice. By allowing children the freedom to select their work and move through the cycle of selecting, engaging, cleaning up, and choosing anew, they build confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. This fosters a sound academic foundation and equips them with the tools to become lifelong learners.

Beyond our indoor environment, we offer an enriching outdoor play space where children can explore nature, engage in physical activity, and develop a sense of wonder and stewardship for the environment. From observing plants to hands-on gardening, our outdoor activities provide authentic learning experiences that connect children with the natural world.

To support our families, Birmingham Bloomfield Montessori operates Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Parent involvement is a cornerstone of our philosophy, and we warmly invite families to participate in school life through classroom volunteering, parent-teacher conferences, and educational workshops. This strong partnership between home and school creates a supportive community where every child thrives.
