Dear BBM Families,
It’s been a busy and exciting start to October! Our classrooms are full of energy and curiosity, and we have many upcoming events and opportunities to share. Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s updates and reminders.
Upland Hills Farm Field Trip
We’re looking forward to our Upland Hills Farm Field Trip coming up soon!
We want to clarify that this trip is for all BBM students and families, not just preschoolers. BBM will be closed that day, and families will meet us directly at the farm.
You’ll enjoy a tour with a farmer, feeding the ducks, visiting the barns and animals, a pie pumpkin for each child, and time for a picnic and play.
Cost: $11 per person (children and adults). You will be billed in Lineleader and can pay the same way you pay tuition.
If you haven’t signed up yet, please complete the form here:

Toddler Classroom Themes
Our toddler classrooms explore monthly themes that tie into their practical life and sensorial learning.
- September: School & Friends
- October: Insects
- November: Reptiles
These topics help spark curiosity and language development while connecting children to the world around them. Be sure to ask your toddler about what they’re discovering each month!
Curriculum Night
Tuesday, October 14 | 5:00–6:00 PM
We’re excited to welcome all parents (no children, please) for our Curriculum Night. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Montessori curriculum and what your child experiences each day.
Check out the Agenda!
Immediately following Curriculum Night, from 6:00–7:00 PM, we’ll host an Open House for prospective families. If you know anyone interested in Montessori education, we’d love for them to come and see what makes BBM special.
Cultural Celebrations: Diwali & Day of the Dead
This month, we will be recognizing two meaningful cultural celebrations: Diwali (on 10/17) and Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead, on 10/31). These celebrations are presented to children in an age-appropriate, cultural context, focusing on the values of light, love, remembrance, and family traditions around the world. You can read more about the cultural celebrations we recognize here: BBM Global Education
Changing Weather
As the seasons shift, please make sure your child has weather-appropriate outdoor clothing each day. We go outside daily whenever possible, even in cool weather. If your child’s extra clothes at school still include summer items (shorts or short sleeves), please send in updated fall replacements.
Picture Day
Monday, October 20
Uniforms are not required for preschoolers that day. We look forward to capturing those bright smiles!
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Friday, November 7
School will be closed that day for conferences. A sign-up form will be shared soon so you can reserve your time to meet with your child’s teacher.
Volunteer Opportunities
Mystery Reader
Parents, grandparents, or loved ones are invited to be a Mystery Reader this November! Bring a favorite story to share with the class and surprise the children. Your child’s teacher will reach out with an opportunity to sign up.
Trunk or Treat Event
Friday, October 31 | 3:00 PM
We’re excited to kick off our annual Trunk or Treat celebration! We’re asking some parents to take the lead and volunteer to decorate their car ‘trunks’ and provide a small treat for students. The treats can be candy, stickers, bubbles, temporary tattoos, etc. No nuts please). Children will trick-or-treat in their costumes in our blocked off parking lot. Half-day students are welcome to return and join the fun!
Need inspiration? Here are some Trunk or Treat Ideas.
Thank you for taking a few moments to read through this week’s updates. We truly appreciate your partnership in helping make BBM a warm, connected community for our children and families.
Warmly,
The BBM Team
