MiRegistry
MiRegistry is a training website that our state licensing requires for all childcare teachers in the state of Michigan. The website is an area you can store and track your training history. There are 3 Modules that will need to be completed ASAP. Here are the steps to completing this required training:
- Make a MiRegistry account. Click on Create Account in the blue icon.

- Once you are logged in you should be able to use the links below to register for the FREE Modules. They are self-paced and online. If you have already done the Modules below for another center, you may only need the Michigan Ongoing Health and Safety Training Refresher. If so, you’ll see that in your MiRegistry account.
- Complete Module A (2 hours):
- Prevention and Control of Infectious Disease (including Immunizations)
- Recognition and Reporting of Child Abuse and Neglect
- Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome and Abusive Head Trauma and Child Maltreatment
- Complete Module B (3 hours):
- Child Development- Infant, Toddler, Preschooler, and School-age
- Administration of Medication
- Prevention of and Response to Emergencies due to Food and Allergic Reactions
- Handling and Storage of Hazardous Materials and Appropriate Disposal of Bio-contaminants
- Complete Module C (2 hours):
- Infant, Child and Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Pediatric First Aid (No Certification)
- Building and Physical Premises Safety (including Playground Safety)
- Emergency Preparedness and Response Training
- MiRegistry Refresher: This is only for teachers who have already completed the Modules but have been notified that the Refresher is required.
Orientation Training
In-Office Training (2-4 hours):
This training will be done in the office soon after hire.
Safe Sleep Training to do on your own (1 hour):
The Prevention of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Prevention & Safe Sleep Watch the video and complete the Quiz
Montessori Training (Required for those who are not lead teachers)
On a piece or paper, answer the following questions:
- Name 1 of the 6 aspects of the Montessori classroom that appeal to you.
- What is one thing an assistant does in the classroom beyond being a ‘helper’?
- What is one thing you can do as an assistant to promote peace in the classroom?
- What do you think is an important quality of a Montessori assistant that you learned?
- What does it mean to be a good observer?
Other Required Training
In addition to the trainings above, you will need CPR & First Aid Training every 2 years and 16 hours of professional development each year. We will have in-service trainings that will cover most of these 16 hours. You may be asked to do additional training if your position needs it.
