Dear BBM Families,
As we head into a very busy season at BBM, we want to ensure everyone is informed about schedule changes and upcoming celebrations. Please read through these updates carefully!
Rummage Sale Week Logistics (Next Week)
The church will be utilizing most of its space for the annual Rummage Sale. To ensure safety and efficiency during this busy time:
- Red & Blue Room Drop-off/Pick-up: All families in the Red and Blue rooms MUST use the lower level for both drop-off and pick-up. Do not go directly to the Red and Blue rooms. Access to the upper level through the main church entrances will be restricted. Our teachers will facilitate the logistics of moving the children between levels.
- Early Closure – Thursday, April 30: School will close at 3:30 PM as the sale officially opens that afternoon.
- Closure – Friday May 1: School is closed for Parent Teacher Conferences
- Playground Note: Reminder that we will not be using the playground during this week due to the high volume of traffic on the grounds.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Friday, May 1: School CLOSED for classes. Please refer to the communication sent by your child’s teacher to sign up for your conference slot. We look forward to discussing your child’s progress and growth!
Welcoming New Faces
We have been so happy to welcome several new families to BBM recently, with even more joining us in May! Please also join us in welcoming our newest teacher, Ms. Kelley, to the Blue Room.
Calendar Updates & May Events
Stay up to date by visiting our School Calendar. You can find instructions there on how to import our dates directly into your Google Calendar or iCal.
- May 1 | School Closed for Parent Teacher Conferences
- May 4–8 | Teacher Appreciation Week: We are currently looking for a Blue Room “Room Parent” or two to help coordinate special activities for this week. If you are interested in helping, please let us know!
- May 5 | Cinco de Mayo: Ms. Claudia will be leading our school celebration.
- May 7 | Gymnastics End-of-Year Program: For participating students, the program will be held on the Upper Level in the Social Hall from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
- May 25 | School Closed: Memorial Day
- June 12 | Last Day of School: We are planning a special Zoo Trip to celebrate the end of the year and Father’s Day! Keep an eye out for more details soon.
Misc. Reminders
- As we welcome more families, please be mindful of your drop-off and pick-up times related to your schedule. We cannot always guarantee we have extra staff outside of your scheduled time at BBM.
- For children’s safety, outdoor footwear needs to be closed toed athletic shoes (crocs are fine for the classroom, but not the playground)
- Winter Gear: It is time to take those heavy coats and snow boots home!
- Spring/Summer Clothes: Please ensure your child has a fresh set of seasonally appropriate backup clothes in their cubby as the weather warms up. No sandals please!
- As it warms up, feel free to fill out a sunscreen permission slip. We have them in the Toddler Classrooms as well as by the iPad kiosk on the lower level. Sunscreen is provided by parents and we cannot accept any in an aerosol can. It must be lotion. Parents should apply for the morning and we will reapply it in the afternoon.
- If you are entering the upper level of the school via the church, please make sure the door closes behind you. Some of the church doors can be tricky.
Attendance & Illness Policy
If your child will be absent or you are running late, please send a message through LineLeader as soon as possible. As a reminder, students must be 24-hour symptom-free (fever, vomiting, diarrhea) without medication before returning.
