Dear BBM Families,
We hope your New Year has been off to a great start! It has been a joy to see the children reconnecting with their friends, meeting new ones and getting back into their classroom routines. As we move further into January, please take a moment to review these important updates and reminders.
Upcoming Closure: MLK Jr. Day
Please note that school will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and for our teachers who are doing training this day. We look forward to seeing everyone back in class on Tuesday, January 20.
Lunchbox Reminder: Ice Packs
We want to share an important reminder regarding state licensing rules for student lunches. To ensure food safety, all children bringing “refrigerated” food items (meat, dairy, etc.) must have an ice pack in their lunchbox every day. Even if the lunch is kept in a cubby or bag, licensing requires an active cooling source to be present inside the lunch container. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us remain in compliance with these safety regulations!
Health & Illness Policy
As we navigate the peak of the winter season, our priority is keeping our community healthy. To prevent the spread of illness and allow children to rest comfortably and recover more quickly, please keep your child home if they exhibit any of the following:
Your child should stay home if they have:
- Fever: Children must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever reducers before returning to school.
- Respiratory Issues: A persistent/productive cough or thick, colored discharge from the nose or eyes.
- Eye Irritation: Red, runny eyes combined with persistent sneezing.
- Stomach Issues: Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea (2+ loose stools in 24 hours).
- General Malaise: Sore throat or persistent abdominal pain.
Children must be symptom-free for a full 24 hours (without the use of medication) before returning to school.
Morning Arrivals
A quick thank you to all our families who have been prioritizing an on-time arrival! Being here before class starts gives your child the most out of the Montessori morning & essential early lessons. If you do happen to run late, please remember to notify us through LineLeader.
