Dear BBM Families,
This week has been a beautiful reminder of the values we hold close at BBM. Today, our students joined schools around the world in an annual tradition, International Peace Day. Maria Montessori believed that children are the true builders of peace, and that by nurturing respect, kindness, and understanding in childhood, we help create a more peaceful world for the future. The children reflected on what peace means in their lives and in our school community. It was a simple but powerful moment that set a wonderful tone for the year ahead. If you want to play the song “Light a Candle for Peace” that we’ve been enjoying all week, you can find it on music streaming services or HERE.
Save the Date: Curriculum Night
We are excited to invite all BBM families to Curriculum Night: Tuesday, October 14 5:00–6:00 PM
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the Montessori curriculum and what you can expect this coming year. We will meet in the lower level of the school inside the Yellow room. Toddler and Preschool families are welcome.
Immediately following Curriculum Night, we will host an Open House for Prospective Families from 6:00–7:00 PM. This is not for current families, but if you know someone who may be interested in joining BBM, please share and encourage them to come tour and learn more.
Tumbling Tikes Gymnastics (ages 2.5+)
We’re excited to partner with Ms. Jane, owner of J.S. Juniors Dance & Gymnastics, to bring our families Tumbling Tikes Gymnastics. If you’re interested, a blue flyer with all information is in the foyer by the iPad or in your child’s classroom. Classes will be on Thursdays beginning 10/2 from 9:30-10 and is open to students 2.5 years and up. The monthly fee is $45.
Upland Farms Family Field Trip: Friday October 24 9:30AM-12:30PM
We’re heading to the Farm! We are excited to invite our families to join us for a field trip to Upland Hills Farm on Friday October 24 9:30AM-12:30PM in Oxford. Some of the activities we’ll enjoy are: a 30 minute hayride, a walk in the woods on our storybook trail, a tour around the farm with a farmer, a pie pumpkin to take home, and feeding the ducks. You are welcome to stay longer and pack a lunch to enjoy at picnic tables. They also have a concession stand.
Please note: BBM will be closed that day, and families will meet us directly at the farm and supervise/participate with their child. We’d love to see everyone there! The cost is $11 per person (children and adults) and will be billed through Lineleader. You can sign up for the farm here: Upland Hills Field Trip Sign Up
